Hello, my name is Brad, and I am one of the certified Personal Trainers here at the 21st Century Health Club, dedicated to assisting you to achieve your health and fitness goals. I have been training at 21st Century Health Club since 2004, and hold a Personal Training Certificate with ACE, American Council on Exercise, and have trained my self for 14 years, previously working with the Indiana Sheriffs Department. I was a police officer for a city department and then became a Deputy Sheriff in Indiana, with 10 years of law Enforcement Strategic Training. I train clients from varying age groups and fitness backgrounds –including those who have previous injuries, post rehabilitation, or sport specific needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to approach me in the club at any time, or give me a call. I will be more than happy to answer your questions or address your concerns.
Paul Maytorena

Paul is the Program Manager and personal trainer at the 21st Century Health Club in Cotati. He is also the head baseball coach for Casa Grande High School, where he has coached his team to two sectional consecutive championship victories, once in 1998 and again in 2001. Paul has been involved in the fitness industry since 1989 and enjoys participating in a wide variety of athletics. He has a B.S. Kinesiology from Sonoma State University and is certified as a strength and Conditioning Trainer by the International Dance and Exercise Association (IDEA). Paul enjoys working with all types of People, designing programs for weight loss, strength development, and injury rehabilitation.
Rich Pedersen

Rich is at the gym bright & early nearly every day and keeps his clients working hard to achieve their goals. Along with his A.A., Rich is certified by the American Council of Exercise (ACE). He has been training in Cotati for nearly 6 years, and works with a variety of clientele. He trains clients of all ages and backgrounds, but focuses on motivation, goal setting, and working hard to achieve success. Rich believes that dedication and determination are the keys to lasting results and a lifetime of health.

PJ Poiani

P.J. is the club manager as well as a personal trainer at the 21st Century Health Club. P.J. is certified by the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E) as a Personal Trainer, and holds a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science from Sonoma State University. He has been with the club since 2002.

P.J. inspires people of all ages regardless of their level of fitness and enjoys pushing his clients towards their goals. P.J. believes that “A successful exercise program must be specific to one’s goals and be fun! Every person is unique and therefore it is important that an exercise program be individualized to meet the needs and goals of the client.”

Jo Henkel

Jo comes to the 21st Century Health Club with experience as a personal trainer. She is certified by the American Council On Exercise (A.C.E) as a personal trainer and is a certified instructor of mat Pilates. She holds a B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science as well as two teaching credentials.

As a former elementary school teacher, Jo is a patient, enthusiastic, and a non-threatening trainer. She designs safe and effective fitness programs for her clients to improve their strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance.

Jo believes that exercise is a natural mood-enhancer. “If you make healthy living (exercise, clean diet, and rest) a priority, you will look better, feel better, and be better equipped to handle stress.
Karen Bronder-Reynolds

Karen is a certified personal trainer by The American Council of Exercise. (A.C.E) She graduated from Chico State in 1985 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies. She has years of experience in sports and weight training and has been teaching Elementary students for the past 23 years.

Karen believes exercise should be enjoyable as well as safe. Her objective is to create an exercise program that is effective and unique to your needs, while still having fun. Karen encourages others to push their limits and develop a healthy and active lifestyle

Karen enjoys working with all people and pushes them to work harder and improve their fitness with each workout. Her positive attitude will motivate and encourage you to reach your highest potential! When not working out in the gym, Karen enjoys waterskiing, snow skiing, and hiking.
Thomas Booth

Thomas has been certified as a Personal Trainer by the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) since 2000. He has been CPR certified since 2000.

Thomas has over 30 years of weight training/ bodybuilding experience. Thomas has been a top-level natural competitive bodybuilder since turning 50. He has five years of first placement as Grand Master in natural bodybuilding organizations, also first place Master’s overall State championship, first place Men’s Open class, and first place Grandmaster’s Forever Natural---Nationals. His many years of bodybuilding have given him a vast knowledge base of strength training, nutrition, contest preparation, weight loss, and fitness.

Thomas is extremely passionate about fitness, health, and whole body wellness, and believes fitness is a life long commitment

Heather Khan

Heather Khan has been with the 21st Century Health Club since 1999. She is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.(NASM) In 2005 she was certified by the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as a Spin Instructor. Heather teaches 2-3 classes a week here at the 21st Century Health Club.

Heather specializes in developing programs that integrate strength, flexibility, and endurance training to aide in daily functional movement. She has a particular interest in core stabilization and balance training.
When not working, Heather enjoys being active. She loves to run, snowboard, wakeboard, and occasionally surf. She loves squeezing in a workout while combining her love of the outdoors.

Heather is enthusiastic and extremely encouraging when working with clients. After assessing her client’s weaknesses she hopes to give them a better understanding of their bodies so they can reach their fitness goals and ultimately enhance their lives.
